Privacy & Cookies
This notice explains how Adrian’s Space handles information under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR. Last updated: 12 October 2026.
Who is responsible
Adrian Harrison is responsible for information provided through AdrianHarrison.co.uk. For enquiries and privacy requests, email me@adrianharrison.co.uk.
Enquiries: what we collect and why
The contact form collects your name, email address, message and optional budget so Adrian can read, respond to and follow up your enquiry. Required fields are needed to respond. Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information. Sending an enquiry does not add you to a mailing list or commit you to paid work.
For enquiries about arranging work, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. For other messages, the lawful basis is the legitimate interest in responding to correspondence you choose to send. We use the information for that purpose and do not sell it or use it for automated decisions.
Storage and who can access it
Enquiries are stored privately in WordPress, restricted to administrators, and notification emails are sent to me@adrianharrison.co.uk. The site uses the shared hosting server managed by the site owner. Authorised website and server administrators and the hosting and email service providers operating these services may process information as needed to maintain them. An enquiry remains stored if an email notification fails.
Retention
Routine enquiries will be deleted from WordPress and the enquiry mailbox within 12 months after the last contact, unless still needed for ongoing work, a legal obligation or a dispute. Site and mailbox administrators manage this deletion manually; the form does not automatically delete records. Backup copies may persist until replaced through the hosting backup cycle.
Security and spam prevention
The contact form uses a security token, hidden anti-spam field and short submission timer. A temporary one-way hash of the connection’s IP address is used to limit repeated submissions; the form does not save the raw address. The hosting service may retain ordinary server logs for operation and security.
The Computer Tower Challenge
Playing does not require an account. If you choose to save a score, the game stores your chosen nickname, score and submission time. Nicknames and scores appear publicly on the leaderboard, so please use a nickname rather than personal contact details. The purpose is to provide the leaderboard you request. Entries remain until removed by an administrator; email the address above if you would like your entry removed.
The game also saves your personal-best score on your device using browser local storage named apcs-personal-best. This contains a score, not your email address. It remains until you clear this site’s stored browser data. Short-lived game sessions and one-way IP-address hashes help prevent repeated or invalid score submissions.
Your UK GDPR rights
You can ask for access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, or object where processing relies on legitimate interests. Data portability may apply where information is processed automatically on the basis of a contract. These rights depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
Send requests or concerns to me@adrianharrison.co.uk. We may need enough information to verify your identity before disclosing private records. Requests are normally answered within one month; where the law permits an extension, we will explain it. You can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and similar browser storage
Cookies are small files placed in your browser. WordPress uses cookies for account sign-in, session security and checking whether the browser accepts cookies. Account and administration preference cookies may also remember settings for signed-in users. Session cookies expire when the session ends; persistent cookies last until their expiry or until you delete them. Selecting Remember Me can extend the login session.
The game’s personal-best storage described above is local storage rather than a cookie. It is used to remember your score for the game, rather than to track you across other sites.
At this notice’s publication, Google Analytics, Matomo and Microsoft Clarity tracking are disabled in the site’s analytics settings, and no custom tracking scripts are configured there. If optional analytics or advertising tracking is introduced, this information will be updated and applicable consent requirements handled before it is used.
You can remove this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser’s site-data settings, or block cookies using browser controls. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in and clearing local storage removes your personal-best score. External links lead to other websites with their own privacy and cookie practices.
